The Italians have a passion for life and they do all
that they can do to make a trip on their ship an Italian delight. Costa
ships have always been a showcase for some of the world's most famous designers
and artists. There are literally thousands of individual pieces of art on
every ship. These large ships offer a wonderful feel because of the mahogany
and briarwood throughout. There is also the Italian flare in the Murano
glass and Cararra marble that is in many of the designs aboard.
The newest ship named 'Costa Magica' is no less beautiful
than their older ships. She has one of the largest dance floors I have ever
seen. Her theater is three decks high and the lower deck is recommended
for those that may be stair challenged. The pool deck is central on the
ship and has 4 pools (one has a retractable roof), 6 jacuzzi tubs and a
water slide. There are plenty of wonderful thing to keep you as busy as
you would like. The casino and disco were always humming. There is a kid's
club called the Squok and a video arcade for kids of all ages. If you are
into fitness, there is the outside jogging track, multi sports court and
fitness center with spa that can help with the pounds you may add to your
body while aboard the ship. On the other hand, don't want to do anything.
That is ok too. Just relax by the pool reading a book or looking at the
sights can make your day just as pleasurable.
The shows were very well done and of course you cannot
go on an Italian cruise without having a toga party on the last night. What
a way to end a wonderful cruise and plan for the next. If you can't leave
home without touching someone left behind, just go to the internet caf'
and email away. Of course there is a charge for this.
The experience we had on this ship in April led me to
go again. We have a fund raiser for the North Treasure Coast Chapter-American
Red Cross. Let me take you on a Costa cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on
November 26, 2006. Call Ramblin' Rose to learn more about the Italian Celebration
of Life.
